John Nuttall was born on April 9, 1817 at Cupola Clough near Accrington Lancashire, England. He died on September 17, 1897 at Dubree, Nuttall Mountain, West Virginia. He is buried in the old graveyard on top of the cliffs of Nuttall Mountain.
